Ultima Thule by James Broadhurst is a journey to the edge of the known world; where civilisation is yet to sully the crystal waters, disturb the sleeping sands or chart every boundary with the cartographer’s pen. The sole inhabitant of this fictional place – played by model Cassie – is at once intense and rhapsodical. Beyond the end of the earth is untouched and unattainable; a line to be stepped over, both a form of captivity and the ultimate freedom.
