Like a character from a fictional novel that has its pages filled with both a sense of wonder and an unexplainable darkness, Pascal Demeester’s governess appears to have steeped out from another world, perhaps another era. She is strange in that truly wonderful way, she is enigmatic and grim, beautiful and whimsical, raising questions and dragging you into the story, just like any unusual character should.
